Final Booklet For CD digipack
FRONT
BACK
I took inspiration from Green Day 'Insomia' where instead of having a booklet they used a poster format. So when you open up my booklet it shows a big poster of lyrics, and the other side showing a poster of Lester that they can put on their wall if they wish too.

Day Three Of Filming
As a result of that previous shot being dark I went out and filmed again. This meant that I had to find a location that looked like a beach again as I was not able to travel 3 hours to a beach again. Once finding my location I had to arrange for my actor to wear the same clothes. As it was November the days were getting dark very quickly and he could only do the shot after school and therefore we had to make sure that the timings were perfect to make sure the shot was not grainy.
As you can see by doing this it looks a lot better and I am happy with the outcome.

Decision on dark shot
I am at the stage now where I have finished the editing and I am reviewing it to see where I can improve it.
One of my shots is very dark as I wanted to portray a sillouhette and the darkness representing the end of the day (end of music video) but I am worried that I will loose marks for it, and therefore am deciding whether to change it or not.

Draft Booklet For CD digipack
I have used a series of softwares to create this project. As explained before I used photoshop to create my front cover. I also used photoshop to draw my icons which were influenced from Lester Allen's website.
The whole booklet is made in microsoft word, which is how I added the lyrics for each song on to it.
I have used the same font throughout the digipack to keep it consistent and simple. I did the doodles to carry on my theme of drawing which is portrayed on my front cover and back cover.
Once receiving feedback I need to make sure that I use more shot distances which may mean that I need to add more doodles.
I also need to add different font styles to make it more interesting.
Final Front and Back Cover
I have made quite a few changes on my back cover. I added a lyric to the top of the back cover to fill up some white space. I also made the records real rather than drawn as I felt the other one looked too scruffy and amateur. I felt that you could not read the track names well enough and therefore put a scribble effect behind to make them stand out. I have changed one of the barcodes to look more professional and have made the red strip a little thinner so that it is not over powering.
Draft Magazine Advertisement
After posting this on my blog I was able to receive some feedback as to whether it met the criteria or not. I have come to the conclusion that I need to add more shot distances to it as I have taken a risk of using my album cover in the magazine advert which could be seen as repetitive but in this I wanted to use an advertising technique of making the CD cover recognisable and therefore familiar to the audience. Furthermore I feel that you can count the hands as another shot distance and therefore there are three shot distances.
To improve: I need to add idustry information to make it look more professional.

This is a short powerpoint to show the steps of how I made my magazine advertisement.
Flat Plan Of Magazine Advertisement
I have drawn out my plan of my magazine advert so that when it comes to making it it is more structured and planned. It looks how I wanted to on paper but when it comes to actually producing it I need to analyse it again.
Flat Plan Of CD Booklet
As I haven't written out the lyrics this looks a bit empty but once having the lyrcis I am hoping it will work.
Audience and Institutions
By doing this is has helped me to define my target audience and music magazine ideology. This will help me to complete my magazine advertisement as by analysing magazines, especially Mojo I no know techniques to use such as using black and white photography.
Inspiration for cd panel
I have taken inspiration from Grease's soundtrack. Underneath the disk they have used a picture of the couple and have used an editing technique which means the surrounding circle is blurred so that the couple is the main focus. I have done this technique on photoshop to my own cd panel.

Developing my music video
I have been able to stop and really focus on what my video needs to be able to meet the criteria needed. By adding the captions on the my storyboard it not only reminds me that I need to do it but it gives me more and more ideas to develop my video.

Draft Back Cover
By posting this I was able to receive some feedback.
"There is a lot of white space at the top, maybe add a lyric from one of the songs?"
"It is hard to see some of the track names"
"Maybe try and make the records real life rather than drawn?"
I have taken all these comments on board and used them to develop my back cover.

Draft CD Cover
These cover show what my CD cover look like with and without the bits of skin. At this stage I am still deciding whether to use the skin or not. By posting this I can now use blogger's comment options so that the rest of my peers can comment on it to give me feedback as I may need to change bits to improve it.

I have posted a post to show how I produced my CD cover using photoshop. I have done this to show all the techniques I used such as cropping, rotating, colour change, layering, etc. By doing this I have learnt all the techniques that photoshop can offer and therefore I can carry on using these to make my work even better.
